Korean designer Seungjin Yang‘s Blowing series is a unique collection of seating units that take inspiration from balloon shapes and childhood memories. The collection features unconventional silhouettes and an almost otherworldly finish. According to the designer, the furniture series “continues the artist’s ongoing exploration of a unique reality that is typified by bold colors and the pleasantly surprising stability of seemingly pliable materials.”
The Blowing series includes a variety of silhouettes, including the beige Love Seat, the Lounge Chair 01 in Yellow, the Armchair 01 in Pink Gum, the Dining Chair in Black, the Armchair in White, and more. While most pieces are monochromatic, there are also a few multicolor options like the Blowing Stool 1. The collection has garnered widespread attention and praise for its innovative and playful approach to furniture design.
